Artist Statement

Through my handcrafted Alaska Native jewelry, I am reviving a cultural practice and expressing my deep pride. Using silver, copper, and gold, I hand engrave and sculpt each piece, utilizing the ancient visual language of the Northwest Coast. This art form represents a way of life that was once forbidden and commemorates the stories that cannot be expressed in words alone. My work is a contribution to society, aimed at improving any person, place, or thing that comes into contact with it. It represents significant moments, acknowledges memories, and sets the foundation for future generations. As a part of one of the richest traditional value systems, my creations are inspired by our elders and ancestors, rooted in a deep love for our children, who we see as our future leaders.
